BRUCE BARTHOL FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19
ART HOUSE GALLERY & CULTURAL CENTER                                       2905 SHATTUCK AVE, BERKELEY

Hello Friends,
Last spring, you may remember, I did a solo tour of Ireland and the UK .
On the road I realized I needed a narrative to tie together the songs I  was doing. (Too   many years in theater).  I began to develop a concept  of joining songs I’ve played or written with events of my life.

I’ll be performing my current version at the Art House Gallery &  Cultural Center on
Friday, February 19th, at 7:30.   Songs from the SF  Mime Troupe, East Bay sharks,
CJ and the Fish, Formerly Fat Harry and whatever else I feel like playing.

ART HOUSE GALLERY & CULTURAL CENTER 2905 Shattuck Ave Berkeley CA 94705

It’s a block north of Ashby. Donation is $10- $20..

Please support the Arts!!

Doors open at 6:00 for an Art House potluck.

Bruce Barthol was the original bass player with Country Joe and the  Fish, and for
over 35 years was a member and  resident  songwriter of  the Tony award winning
San Francisco Mime Troupe.

In 2014 his  show, FSM (on the 50th anniversary of the Free Speech Movement), opened
at the Berkeley Rep.  He last performed at the Art House with The Former  Members,
David Bennett Cohen, Roy Blumenfeld and Greg Douglass.

Last year on a solo tour of Ireland and the UK, Bruce began to develop  what he calls:

Work In Progress:  the story of his life in the songs he’s written.

From the Nick Drake’s London Daily Mail Review:

It was the way he tells them. Bruce Barthol stands there on the pub  stage and recounts
how German chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Greece  and was quizzed by the immigration official. “Occupation? “No, just  visiting.” He might be of a certain age and look like a casual college  professor, but Barthol still has the sparkle-in-the-eye anti-establishment rebelliousness of his former group, Country Joe And The Fish.

Join Bruce at the Art House on February 19th at 7:30 where he’ll take on his latest project:
himself.
