Esteban Bello, “El Enano”
Esteban has studied the guitar intensely since childhood. He attended Mannes Conservatory
of Music, then continued classical guitar study with Andres Segovia in Spain, as well as
master classes with Julian Bream and Narciso Yepes. He has performed more than 400 solo concerts, including three at Carnegie Hall.
In between touring nationally and internationally as a classical guitarist, he served as
guitar instructor on the faculties of Manhattan College of Music, Mannes College of Music,
the New School for Social Research and the Jersey City State Teacher’s College.
Delving into the art of Flamenco, he has studied extensively with Jason Mc Guire “El Rubio”
as well as with Pedro Cortes, Anzonini Del Puerto, Augustin Rios Jesus Montoya, Manuel
Malena and Jose Cortes. He has released three CD’s: one of traditional Flamenco and two of romantic Boleros.
A veteran of the jazz scene, Paul toured for many years as a jazz guitarist. He studied
flamenco guitar in Spain. He is a composer as well and plays a seven-string flamenco guitar.
Marita de Loris
Marita received a scholarship to study Flamenco dance in Spain at the school of Matilde Coral. She also studied with Alicia Marquez in Seville and with Ana Maria Lopez in Jerez de la Frontera.
She currently studies the cante (Flamenco singing) with Jose Cortes and palmas (Flamenco
hand-clapping) with Juan del Valle.
Joelle began her Flamenco dance journey in 1999, attending dance classes in Santa
Rosa, CA. In 2003, she traveled to Seville, Spain, to study with Jose Galvan, and,
later, with world famous artists such as Manuel Betanzos, Paky del Rio, and Pilar
She has also studied at the Institute for Spanish Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with
Spanish artists such as Antonio Granjeros and Angel Munoz. She has co-produced a
variety of Flamenco performances as director of Sol Flamenco, including: Gloria Ferrer’s
Catalan Festival, the Ashland Shakespeare Festival Green Show, Sonoma County Bluegrass
Folk Festival, Willits Community Theatre, Pacheco Playhouse’s “Andalucía in the Andes”
and the Wine Country Film Festival.
Hilit is a Bay Area-based Flamenco dancer, choreographer and instructor. Born in
Israel, she mastered Flamenco dance in Spain. For the past few years she has danced
in the Bay Area’s best venues with Flamenco’s premier dance companies. Hilit creates
traditional Flamenco with a touch of modern flare.
Holly is a professional dancer, choreographer and creativity coach based in the
San Francisco Bay Area. She has been creating original work and performing for
over fifteen years. Her performances have included performing as a soloist with
Caminos Flamencos at the ODC Theatre, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Cowell
Theatre and with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.
She has danced in the Edinburgh Arts Festival, was a starring guest artist in
“Forever Flamenco” at L.A.’s Fountain Theatre and has performed with several
companies in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival.
A recent work, “The Outlaw,” was commissioned by the West Wave Dance Festival.
She currently coaches professional artists of all types, teaches dance composition
workshops, performs and produces the LAUNCH!
