ashes; and ending with reflections on the power of the neighborhood’s
music to ensure the survival of several generations of its residents

To tell the truth, the proof of success lies in a whole social structure

consciousness, creativity and expression of the men and women who are

people oftentimes find their most vibrant expression in the music and dance,
in the creativity of the individual that percolates up through the oppression
and despair and becomes a means for individual uplift and then takes hold
amongst the masses and furthers the transformation of repressive societies.
